DESCRIPTION:

Multimedia painting on wood. The surface is carved with petroglyphic images. Faces of the dead, in a sweep through the shadows on the right, are cast Vatican stone. Three spirits, carved in walnut, hang in the latigo and fox fur fringe.

Nataska is an ogre spirit, threatening in his night dance, calling to the children to come feed him. He pops his teeth, shakes his whip of yucca branches and demands a meal of rodents or piki bread.
